Getting a FEEL4 tennis

Tennis is a perfect sport to correlate FEEL4 methodology.

Obviously the main overarching FOCUS tennis players have is to win the match and the tournament. However you can zoom into the match itself and see that players focus intently on the moment and hitting the ball perfectly to win each point.

The tennis serve is one of the great examples of this. FEEL4 can break down the serve as follows:

FOCUS: I WANT TO FOCUS ON HITTING THE BALL PERFECTLY WITHIN THE NEXT FEW SECONDS SO IT GENERATES AN ACE.

ENERGIZE: I feel energized to hit the ball perfectly because:

– I love the sport and always aim for perfection. Hitting the perfect ace generates intense satisfaction.

– I want to prove I am the best at what I do and that means winning and playing the perfect game.

– I want to be able to return home to my family and tell them I won the tournament.

ENGAGE: I will engage by running through the serve I have trained years to do. Foot on the line, lean back, throw ball in the air, leap and swing hard and fast hitting the ball at 1 o’clock.

LEARN: I learnt that pure focus with no distractions leads to perfect results. I learnt that if I stick to what my training has taught me then I win at least 80% of my serves.

The latter four steps can vary from player to player. Some players may have other ways to energize themselves to win; maybe the winner’s money is the pull.

The point is once you understand FEEL4 and how to frame your actions to create a positive improvement path to achieving your goals, you will become unstoppable.

If you wish to perfect your tennis game, simply break down the game into different skill sets you can focus on achieving. Once you have perfected your rally, backhand, serve and forearm shots, you will be well on your way to success.
